North Bay Island, a short speedboat ride from Port Blair's Water Sports Complex, is one of the most accessible scuba diving spots in the Andamans. Unlike deep-sea diving, this is shore/shallow diving on a coral reef that starts at just 2 meters and drops to around 8 meters on a sandy seabed — ideal for first-timers, non-swimmers, and anyone without a diving certification. A certified Divemaster accompanies you throughout, with on-shore training covering basic safety and underwater communication before you enter the water. The reef is home to vibrant hard and brain corals, lionfish, angelfish, yellow snappers, clownfish, and pufferfish, making it a rewarding introduction to the underwater world without the depth or commitment of a full open-water dive.
